ANCB General Assembly and Elections 2004

Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi elected as the chairman of ANCB for the fourth consecutive year

ANCB’s General Assembly and Elections for the year 1383 was held on April 14, 2004 in Kabul, where the Chairman and the Executive Board of Directors of ANCB were elected in a democratic and friendly atmosphere.

Out of 308 ANCB member NGOs, the directors and representatives of 185 NGOs participated in this grand gathering.

In the first session of the ceremony, Mr. Wahidi, the chairman of ANCB delivered the annual activity report of ANCB. He appreciated and thanked all ANCB member NGOs for their excellent contribution in the reconstruction and development process of Afghanistan.

In the second session of the ceremony, elections were held for the ANCB chairmanship and for the Members of the Board of Directors. For the chairmanship of ANCB, there were two main candidates (Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi and Abdul Qayum Sayedi), where Mr. Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi comprehensively won by collecting the majority of votes (102 votes) Mr. Sayedi (62 votes) from the total votes of 185. Therefore, Mr. Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi was elected as ANCB Chairman for the fourth consecutive year.

The General Assembly, among 28 candidates also elected ten Members of ANCB Board of Directors, their names are as bellow:

  3. Eng. Sayed Rahim Sattar

  4. Eng. Moh. Qasim Tahiri

  5. Mr. Aziz Mohamad Kakar

  6. Eng. Baryalai Omarzai

  7. Mr. Abdul Wali Babakarkhil

  8. Eng. Baz Mohammad Baz

  9. Dr. Nasim Jamalzai

  10. Mr. Ghulam Ghaws Haidary

According to the charter in the first Board Meeting, Mr. Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi, the chairman of ANCB proposed Eng. Sayed Rahim Sattar as the vice chairman and Mr. Abdul Wali Babakarkhil as the Director of Finance of ANCB for the current year 2004, who were elected by other Board Members.
