Introduction

ANCB, Afghan NGOs Coordination Bureau, established on the 27th of November 1991, is a non-governmental, non-political and non-for-profit organization operating to coordinate the activities of Afghan NGOs working towards emergency, rehabilitation and development of Afghanistan.

ANCB is endeavoring to promote the spirit of cooperation among its member NGOs. To achieve this goal, it has been holding periodic meetings, gatherings, workshops and seminars.

ANCB member NGOs are active in different sectors in Afghanistan and some of them are conducting multi-sector activities.

ANCB has officially been recognized and registered as a coordination body by the Ministry of Economy of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. 

The joint collaboration conference between the Islamic Transitional Government of Afghanistan and NGOs, which took place in Kabul on Nov. 2002, was a positive step to improve and promote coordination among the government and NGOs for the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
